QUESTIONS ABOUT CRATE TRAINING A NEW PUPPY?
i just bought a puppy pitbull and the first few days i let her walk around everywhere and explore but she started goin to the bathroom inside. we kept a routine when we took her out but still had accidents. but my friend told me about crate training. i started doing it but need sum help. do i keep her in the crate all day except to go out and potty??? i let her out to eat and walk around a little but what is the RIGHT way. thanks.

Take her outside every hour, and right after you feed her.
If she is in the house, watch her.
Make sure that if she starts sniffing around like she is about to go in the house, take her outside.
If you are not able to provide proper supervision to ensure that there are few accidents, put her in the crate.
She does not have to spend all day in there, just when you cannot watch her.
She needs to be house broken. Crate training enables you to put them in a crate at night or when you’re not home to supervise them. Crates aren’t meant to be a housebreaking tool. She needs to be potty trained ASAP. If she’s isn’t even potty trained, she’ll end up going in her crate. If you are able to let her out of a crate to potty, then you can do it while she’s given free-roam. But you have to watch her like a hawk during the training to make sure she’s not soiling the carpets or chewing on things she shouldn’t.
When it comes to crate training it must be a positive experience, so that when she really needs to be in the crate she isn’t scared. You can leave a crate open with a toy in it during the day. Encourage her to go inside, but keep the crate door open. Don’t feed her in the crate and don’t let her use the bathroom in it. She needs to associate the crate with relaxation, sleeping. Make sure to buy a crate that will grow with her. One that will accommodate her size when she’s full-grown, but make sure to buy the little divider that goes inside, so you can section off a small enough area to where she won’t feel overwhelmed by the crate’s size.
