My dog just turned one last month. He seems to be housebroken, but I’m not sure if he is 100%. He won’t go in the house on regular occasions, but the last two times he played with other dogs, he made mistakes in the house (he gets really really excited when playing with other dogs). Also, I just moved into a new house, and I woke up to the sound of him peeing! I’d say he still had an accident every month or so since he was about 6 months old, always when he drinks a ton of water (he did last night). Should I consider re-training him? Or is he still considered a puppy and these accidents will eventually stop once he can control his bladder better…?
This is my lovely 16 week Labrador x. I’ve been training him for 5 weeks for a maximum of 15 minutes a day through operant conditioning. If he gets restless, I give him a little break and train him again when he’s willing to learn and hyperactive again. He may not be highly trained and perfect but in my eyes he’s a star
